Frequently asked questions

What is PREX’s return policy?

We guarantee all our merchandise against defect. Sealed gifts and defective items are returnable within 14 days of purchase.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, we sell physical cards that we are happy to send directly to you or the recipient. We do not have eCards at this time. Please note that these gift cards are only redeemable in our Princeton, NJ store. We do not handle any mail-order or online sales of merchandise.

Do you sell online?

Yes, sometimes. We are primarily a brick-and-mortar, walk-in store and do not list our inventory online or handle mail orders. We purchase thousands of items each week and place our emphasis on getting those titles out on the sales floor as efficiently as possible.

The exception to this is our Discogs page where we have roughly 2,000 more-obscure titles to pick from.

Do you sell turntables?

Yes, we usually have a few entry-level turntables in stock. We sell basic component models, and ones that work with Bluetooth.

Do you handle want lists?

No, sorry, we have thousands of customers looking for thousands of titles. The staffing demands make this impractical. Plus, we are a walk-in experience! We buy 2,000 or more records every week.

What types of payment do you accept?

We take cash, almost all charge cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Where can I park?

Parking can seem a challenge in a dense downtown like Princeton, but in reality, there are hundreds of spots within blocks of PREX. There is a large garage less than a block from us on Spring St., and tons of free 2-hour parking on nearby residential streets. If you are parking in metered spots, be aware that the yellow ones have a maximum time of ½ hour, and the grey ones have a max. of three hours. See visitprinceton.org for more info.

What else is there to do in Princeton?

Princeton and the surrounding areas are full of great food, retail, history, parks and more. Come and make a day of it! See visitprinceton.org for ideas and info.

Are CDs and vinyl records recyclable?

No, sorry. We wish they were. However, if you live in an area that accepts plastic up to #5, we have been told that the cases of CDs may be recycled. You must remove the CDs from their cases as they are too thick for use.

Does PREX accept donations?

No. Thank you for thinking of us, but we are a for-profit business. We are happy to pay for any items that we can resell, but we cannot dispose your unsaleable items for you.
